Uhm... I know, one just listens to a really lifelike system, so... then you get out of the chair and onto the soundstage and join her...
Uhm, or is that what we do today... yup, that would be about right.

Nope, I'm blank...

Well, I guess we could lower our standards for the music we play, and play what ever she wants to hear... and we better love it too!
Chicks can tell if we fake it ... I'm told  8)

We could sell it like Tupperware.   You give women a chance to mingle, gossip about things, and some of the audio toys would have to be wearable.   Something that makes a women LOOK skinny or at least think they are skinnier.

That would be my approach.   Don't try and make them like audio.   Make audio that they like.

Lock them in your listening room and wait for Stockholm Syndrome to set in.... :o

We could promise to take off our clothes for them.

Then again how many of you out there look like this ... (sorry about the picture size)

This may be the only conceivable way.  Of course, you'd also have to slip a rophy in her cosmo to get her in the listening room.

You could explain to her that according to the latest report from the New England Journal of Medicine, that studies have conclusively shown that daily exposure to high quality audio results in the reversal of the signs of aging, and the effects increase with exposure...   :shh:

Someone here needs to produce a "study" that concludes that listening to high-end audio systems speeds up your metabolism and helps you to lose weight.

I know plenty of women that love music, (and some of them really have good
systems as well..)

But I've never met a woman that cares about hifi.  They don't like all the
upgrading, etc and they HATE the way guys pee on the bush all the time
about how their amplifier "destroys" this other amplifier.

They don't care.

Put most corporate women with good taste in front of a system from
Naim, Linn, Nagra , McIntosh or Meridian and they will write a 20-30k
check any day of the week.  They just don't want to be bothered with
the stuff we obsess over.

Yeah...not sure if Mike wanted those that would be interested in weight loss.... :o

My wife has 90% hearing loss (seriously) so when she comes up to spend time in my room with me "listening" I know she really loves me, and that happens a decent amount   :D  .... Her comments are strictly about the look of my gear and the room, which has really been a help.  Left to my own devices I would have gone with some yard chairs and a couple shop lamps...

arthurs

Oh yeah...and I think she's pretty hot!  Maybe that's better, hot chicks who let us be into audio with no hassles....more attainable?

Men are from Mars and women from Venus.  Somethings just are meant to be different.  Just say "I love you honey" a lot, take out the trash, buy her flowers, don't forget anniversary dates and be happy with your man cave.  :thumb:  And don't forget to leave a standing invitation for her to join you any time.  8)

design a system that has no visible signs of any gear or speakers...  ANYWHERE!!!   :green:

actually, i am fortunate that my s.o. actually likes a few extra pairs of amps & speakers & a dozen or so tunas lying around...   8)

Ha!   I'm actually doing this for my living room.   I'm hiding some 2" full range speakers in a couple candles.   Building a mid-bass into the TV cabinet.    Subs are in the crawlspace.

Hey!

Well, is ain't going be easy for sure  :icon_lol:

But here are some ideas for example...

  1. Wilson Audio could do a pair of pink Watt/Puppy.

  2. Sonus Fabor could do a pair of those speaker with leather/fabric by Coach on front of their speaker with pattern like one of those Coach's Signature handbags.

  3. A Martha Stewart line of acoustic panels with lots of fabrics colors and patterns to choose from.

  4. Rega "Hello Kitty" edition turntables for younger girls.

  5. A line of Diamonds encrusted speaker and interconnector cables.

Well, that's all I could come up with now.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Buddy,
You may have been kidding but there are already some people thinking along for those lines for actual products.  Scheu Analog in Germany has come out with a line of turntables specifically aimed at the female audiophile.  Take a look at:
