Hi,

I have finished putting my GK-1 in it's enclosure. It's the CH-1  from http://www.iagaudio.com .  the Volume control is a TKD plastic pot and the source selection is based on relais.

It just sound Wonderfull great pace, sense of air and details.

Where do you get the nice little decals?

Perhaps it's a shame I didn't have the manual switched version of the GK-1 available when you bought your EL;  it would have made the input wiring/switching a lot simpler I suspect.

  Real nice job!  I have 2 questions for you:
     1.  The transformers are pretty close to each other and the filament wire runs are relatively long.  Do you have any hum?  If so, how loud?
     2.  I noticed that you used what look like high speed soft recovery diodes for one of the 19volt bridege recifiers and the kit-supplied diodes for the other channel.  Do you find that you hear a difference?

I notice a few swapped caps in there as well, looks like some BG's?

The white lettering is form Datamark Dry-tranfer with a coating. You can get it in some electronic store or At triode-electronic or Antique Electronic Supply.

Well the switching is pretty Simple A 2 days Job  . I only use a single ULN2803 Buffer with pullup. All relay( Nais tq2-5v)  are ON except the one that have a signal running thru it .  

The other part sent the signal to the Preamp or the Headphone amp.



And having 3/4" between channel help with the headphone.

1. No hum, the Kimber twisted pair probably help with 48 twist per foot.

2. No difference , The Harris diode are to replace the one i had overheated.  The supplyed one have 30ns recovery time mine are 25ns. Only Shocttky migh be faster.

All swapped Cap are Panasonic FC + the 2 red elna cerafine. I don't trust the asian cap.
+ 2 Mit for C1.

er... you don't trust Asian caps? care to explain that a bit more? I've never heard anyone say that nichicon etc... are inferior, in fact quite the opposite not to mention, where do  you think the panasonic come from?
