goofed on bugle PS install
« on: 27 Sep 2007, 03:21 pm »
Hi,

Installing the bugle PS and board into the enclosure. Left channel is fuzzy, right is OK. This is only the case when the PS is hooked up. If I remove the PS leads and re-attach the batteries (changing nothing else), it sounds great.

Here's where I goofed last night... while testing the RCA jack install, I accidentally hooked up the batteries to the output (+15, gnd and -15, gnd) of the power supply instead of the input of the bugle. Stupid.

Could this be the problem? Did I break something? I pulled a couple diodes off the board and they checked out OK with my (cheap analog) multimeter.

PS output voltage looks good btw.

Didn't see and cold solder joints, but I'll keep looking.

Thanks.

man, am i a bonehead...

the +15 output on the PS was wired to ground on the bugle.

Sounds good now. Yay.
