He currently has a 1/2 off sale going on at Audiogon: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?cablintr&1195905247

According to some of the testimonials on his website they sound good.  Has anyone heard these?

Dave Morrow claims his interconnect design methods are superior to stranded wire designs because -
(quote from his website):

"Morrow Audio cables use solid core conductors, not stranded. In stranded wire designs, the strands touch each other hundreds of times at various points along the length of the wire, causing the signal to jump from strand to strand instead of flowing through a continuum. The result is a diode effect at each point where the strands come into contact, causing distortion of the signal; blurring imaging, soundstage cues, etc.  In the Morrow Audio design, we eliminating all diode effects by using only solid core wire."

Being an audiophile novice I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion or experience with this type of interconnect.

A full description of his cable is at:  http://www.morrowaudio.com/ma1interconnect.htm

Thanks for your time,

Martin

Never heard them, nor heard OF them. Too many red flags on that one for me, though...mostly the pseudo tech-speak that manages to say a lot without saying anything meaningful at all (or even remotely relevent to audio frequencies). I'm sure they work fine, juast as I'm more than sure you can do just as well by spending less.

While I rather like solid core myself, the whole strand jumping/diode effect nonsense is just that, nonsense.

Don't buy cables based on the technical claims of cable manufacturers. More often than not their technical claims are bullshit.

Having said that, just because the technical claims may be bullshit doesn't mean the cables sound bad. If the price is amenable to you, give 'em a try. Hard to beat firsthand experience.

Good luck!

I attended an audio club meeting that Mike Morrow hosted earlier this year and had the opportunity to hear his hand-made line of electronics, cables and speakers in his listening room.  The system and room were very impressive.  It's clear to me that Mike knows what he is doing.

I don't have any personal experience with Mike's cables in my system yet, but I am considering using Mike's cables in a new SET system that I am in the process of assembling.  This new system will feature the Morrow Reference 300B1s split-chassis monoblocks.  Mike is currently in the final stages of building these amplifiers for me.  (These are very special SET amplifiers.)

I would not hesitate to give Mike's cables a try.  They are inexpensive by high end audio standards, and, based on my experience, I would say they are likely a high-value, no-BS product

Update: I took delivery of my Morrow Reference 300B1S amplifiers on Friday along with a full set of Morrow Audio cables (i.e., the reference interconnects, bi-wire speaker cables and power cables).  Even with minimal break-in, the cables are excellent - a legitimate high end product at a very reasonable cost.  Highly recommended.   :thumb:

FYI, the system I am running is currently as follows:

EMM Labs SE digital separates --> Promitheus Reference Dual-Box TVC --> Morrow Audio Reference 300B1S Monoblocks --> Living Voice Auditorium Avatar IBX-R2s
