Reluctantly, I am offering up my Dodd 120 amps for sale. Bought them last year from Gary as literally the last pair of the Gen 2 amps (I received them in July, '06). (Not part of any special group buy or anything like that).
Great sounding amps with 120wpc of ballsy power, these have the Sonicap Platinum upgrade, and will also come with HiFi Tuning audiophile fuses (2 per monoblock). Black chassis, black transformer covers, and stunning, genuine curly maple side trim. Pics available upon request.
Buyer will have his choice of power tubes {SED Winged C EL34s (which I prefer most), JJ KT-77 (virtually unused) or the stock JJ E34Ls (never used). Will also come with the musical GE 7044 input and driver tubes.
The amps are functionally perfect, and in excellent cosmetic condition. To my ears, these easily beat out a pair of VAC Musicbloc 160s, and the Moscode 401HR which I also owned in my system., at the same time. It was an easy decision.
So why am I selling? I have since upgraded to a lower powered "845" tube sound. It took a pair of $15k Art Audio Quartet monoblocks to displace the Dodds in my system, yup, they are that good. If I had the means, I would keep both, but now I need the cash, so I'm motivated to sell.
Asking $2,600 plus shipping. Paypal adds 3% to the total.
Thanks for looking!
