I just picked up an Advent 300 and I remember back in the day, this
was a pretty fantastic little reciever.

Has anyone done any mods/upgraded to one of these? 

Or have you just run the preamp outs to a power amp....

Curious to see what you have come up with!

That's a very timely question for me. I am actually planning to re-cap it this weekend and have already purchased the cap set from http://www.davidreaton.com/Model_300_receiver_main_page.htm. I will be using it mainly as a phono stage for my new Systemdek IIX with Shure V15 mkIV cartridge, and as a tuner. I was thinking of doing some simple mods like chassis damping, better power cord, maybe better tape our rca plugs but that's the extent of my abilities. I have already cleaned the contacts and saw the improvement.

Any other thoughts?
