Seas MTM.....power requirements?

I'm in the market for amplifier(s), can you comment on the power requirements for the Seas mtm design you did for me?  What do you feel would be the optimal amplifier config for these speakers?

Any RC5 owners care to share your amplification setups?

Thanks
c.

It depends on the room and your normal listening level but I would suggest 100-200 watts/channel. If you listen at moderate levels at 7-10 ft. away a good high-current 75-80 watts can easily drive them.

I listen at approx 9' in a room that measures 50' wide x 20' deep x 13' high....pretty big.  The speakers are located 4' from the back wall and about 20' from the side walls, I listen from almost smack dab center of the room.

I'm curious to know how you feel about the use of a matched stereo pair of amplifiers vs. a pair of mono amps aside from the fact that I will realize more power with mono's.  With the matched stereo pair I could vertical biamp, one channel to the bass section and one channel to the mtm portion of each speaker thus eliminating any clipping artifacts from disturbing the entire set of drivers.  I currently vert biamp with my SP Tech Timepiece 2.1's which have a sensitivity of 85db/1w/1m because of clipping related issues with the loaded tweeter.

What amps are you considering?

Replacing my current Odyssey Khartago's with the higher power Odyssey Mono Extremes http://www.odysseyaudio.com/products.html  or possibly talking with Bryan about BlueCircle amps.

The sensitivity and impedance of your system will be fine with a single stereo amp or monoblocks. All you need is something with good current capability into a 4-ohm load. Klaus or Bryan can steer you in the right direction.
