i have always been interested in the Vandersteen lineup.really can't afford the 5a's so that points to Quatros.in side buy side compareo,how do the Quatros stack up.are they 90%,80%.70%,of the 5a,s.also real interested in line arrays.man,i need to get to a good audio show. :D

If you cannot afford the 5A, why even bother to know how good it is? Even if I tell you the 5A is 100% better than Quatros, would you buy the 5A? :scratch:

But to answer your question, the Quatros has 70% of 5A, that's my subjective opinion, not that it means any hood to you. 8)

The Quatro is basically a Model 3A Sig with a scaled down version of the 2Wq sub-woofer built-in (only 2 active drivers, no radiator). IMO a better option would be to get a pair of Model 3A Sigs and a pair of 2Wq subs. You get the full scale 2Wq, the ability to independently place the subs and you save about $850. Or $4.5K, if you were looking at the wood veneer option.
