Very interesting indeed!
Lets see if it becomes a viable product! That would be nice!
The environmentalists would love this I guess!

If it ever pans out and comes to fluishion, and Costs Less, and hurts some manufacturers, bet you bottom dollar the hurt manufacturers (like any other field) will attempt to squash it, whether through mis information or other ways.

In this case, the manufacturers hurt would be big oil.

I wonder which one of us will be the first to replace the Supercapacitors with "Black Gates"  :D

There's always the ubiquitous flux capacitors too

What about wrecks?  What happens when this giant capacitor discharges all at once?  What if you hit someone driving around in a gasoline powered car - both cars become a giant sparkplug for the gasoline!

The "jaws of life" would become even more dicey for firemen than a hybrid wreck!

This technology does seem to hold a greater promise than batteries.  Buy some electric utility stock - they are the big beneficiaries.

Bingo.  A super energy & power dense capacitor getting crunched in a crash is going to result in bad things.  When it shorts out it's going to do so with a bang, and not in a good way.

The demand for electricity will continue to inrease and so will alternative energy sources to create that electricity.

Ultracapacitors are real and they do work.  Many applications.

There are many safety systems needed and planned for electrically powered vehicles.  No worries, they'll get done.
