Calling Linkwitz Orion owners in the UK :-)
« on: 9 Sep 2007, 11:55 am »
Hi,
I am very interested in the above DIY active speaker system, the only problem is I haven't heard one and there is no dealer network. From what I've read it's up my street, but...

If anyone owns Orions or knows of someone who owns Orions in the UK, then I would love to be put in touch with them. I am searching for someone kind and enthusiastic enough to let me hear their cherished Orions and what they can do!

I am normally not a DIYer, so building an Orion just "for fun" isn't going to happen ;-) I would love to hear this system before going any further...

Thanks in advance, Darren

PS: I did post this in the Open Baffle specialist thread previously but got a limited response, hence my post here...

PPS: Feel free to send me a personal message for more privacy.

I do believe there may be one or two Orion owners in the AKSA circle, a search would no doubt find them ;)

Use the ORION Owners Forum http://orion.quicksytes.com/ to make contact with a willing person in your area.

There are a growing number of ORION builders in the UK. http://orion.quicksytes.com/viewtopic.php?p=4858#p4858

Tyrro,
Thanks. I'd already followed that up from the Linkwitz Labs website and found that the link was broken. I even had an email from Mr Linkwitz himself which mentioned this fact, and I took it to be permanent. Add to this the fact the links in your post don't work for me :-)

But persevering, I tried the links from linkwitzlabs again, and I'm there! One of those things.

Many thanks for this step forwards. Darren

Something weird's happening, maybe browser / forum interaction (I'm using Mozilla on Linux). The url works with copy and paste but clicking the link doesn't, search me why not. Thanks again, your post helped.

Something else is/was associated with the links Tyrro posted because I encountered problems, too (Google search for "2403 Forbidden2" anyone?).

Regardless, I'm glad the copy/paste function worked for you.

I still haven't been able to arrange to hear the Linkwitz Orion. (I'm in the UK.)

I've posted on the Linkwitz user group a while ago; it doesn't appear to be too active.

If anyone is game to let me hear theirs, or can give me a lead, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Darren
