I received this beauty as Trafomatic Audio distributor, to get the ball rolling. It has spent 6 days in customs and was opened for inspection.



Not a big deal. I unpacked it, wow, it does look great! I bring it to my bench and start inserting tubes.....it just happened that the light was right and I started noticing strange marks on the amplifier's top cover.....paint is damaged 

I snapped few shots, but the damage is not that huge and camera has a problem showing it. After some experimenting with backlight I get some reasonably good results of a bad thing.

Everything else is in perfect condition. Amplifier works great and looks great, provided you are few feet apart and have all the tubes inserted so most of the scratches are hidden.



Anyway, quick consultation with Trafomatic and we are reducing price from $2,060 to $1,350 for this one unit. Warranty remains the same: 1 yr electronics, 60 days tubes.

Shipping is $80.00 (shipping size: 26x22x16", weight 70 lbs)

I'm in NYC, work in Long Island, pickup or local delivery is also an option.

How quiet is the amp?

Can it be used with 100db sensitive speakers?

Hi George,

It's been a while since I had it in the rotation, and then only for a few hours....if I remember correctly there was no audible hum on my 94-96dB speakers (this is something I typically pay attention to when auditioning a new piece). I can certainly check again.

Uh, I guess the pricing has changed since 6Moons quotes the much more expensive JJ 2A3-40 as being included in the "$1700" MSRP

You're right, Trafomatic has adjusted pricing......I'm waiting to hear all the details, my guess is along the standard lines - weaker dollar, more expensive iron, don't know what else (if anything). But new units do come with JJ 2A3 tubes.

I applied incorrect conversion factor, so the new price came out too high....now changed to correct, lower value....
