A bunch of 12AX7 tubes for sale
« on: 5 Sep 2007, 11:07 pm »
Hi all.  I have a bunch of 12AX7s for sale.

1. Mullard 12AX7 $35 pr - I bought these from an audio reviewer who claims low hours on them.  Most of the print is rubbed off, but on one tube you can still see part of the Mullard, made in England writing. No reason to doubt him, as I've known him for 15 years.  Very nice sounding tube, but I prefer Philips 5751 in my integrated amp.  SOLD

2. Westinghouse NOS 12AX7 $25 matched pr - These are my backup tubes for a preamp I was using but have since sold. These were manufactured in the 1980s in Yugoslavia.  I basically tested them for a couple of hours and then stored them away for the past 10 years, hence all printing intact.  Very nice sounding tubes. Found an additional 3, for a total of 5.  SALE PENDING

3. Allegro 12AX7B $15 pr - These are my backup to the backup tubes for the preamp.  Manufactured in Yugoslavia in the 1980s if I remembered correctly.  They are used but with low hours.

4. Sylvania NOS 5751 $32 matched pr - Both tubes were manufactured in Sept. 1981 in the USA.  If you see Philips 5751 tubes manufactured in the USA around 1980 and after, it was made in the Sylvania plant and rebranded after Philips purchased the company.  I have six of these tubes, and am using two in the preamp section of my integrated amp. Currently my favorite 12AX7/ECC83/5751/7025 tube.  I'm keeping another two as spares.  The last two I'm selling.  I tested these two in my integrated for about two hours to make sure they were working properly, otherwise, they are NOS.  - SOLD
