FS: RWA Signature 70s ** sold **
« on: 4 Sep 2007, 08:04 pm »
I've advertised these in other places for a few weeks now and only got window shoppers, so I'm putting them here where more folks are likely to know about them.

What can I say -- these are in excellent condition with no marks, dents, or flaws of any kind -- cosmetic or electronic.  They are well broken in and the batteries exceptionally maintained.  I also have a single, universal 2000mAH charger that charges both amps simultaneously, and at the same rate as the standard chargers.  This was built by Vinnie, so not some sort of DIY "improvement".  The enclosures have also never been opened by myself or anybody else.  I'm the original owner and have loved these amps and would absolutely be keeping them if I could afford to.  Reason for selling -- basically because my Adagios like tube amps and that's what I'm using now.

Vinnie is about to offer upgrades to these which he will do even if the amps are not bought directly from him, so you could get the latest and greatest and at probably a substantial savings (prices haven't been set yet, but this is based on the upgrade charges for the Signature 30s.  See the RWA forum for details.

Basically you'd be getting amps in like new condition, fully broken in, and with no wait to have them built, and at a very substantial savings.

Sweet deal on sweet amps. My feedback on agon under username "mindset" speaks for itself.

Thanks,

Jim

Ok, Vinnie has now posted the specifics of the Signature 70.2s -- they will sell for $4200 per pair.  The upgrades are priced as follows:

sonics only -- includes all the changes to the input and output sections and the amplifier board.  This will bring the sonics up to equal that of the new 70.2s.

Full upgrade: $2000 per pair, and includes all sonic improvements, new front and rear panels, smart battery charging system, and can be set for either 24 or 32 dB gain.

This translates into: you can have a new pair of Signature 70.2s for $300 off and still have the full warranty as if it were brand new, or you can have Signature 70s that look like the originals, but have the upgraded sonics, along with a full warranty, for $1300 off the price of a new pair.

Thanks,

Jim

That's $1900 total shipped in the lower 48 and no paypal.  Canadians will pay full shipping, but will get a $25 credit towards that.

Hey 2bigears -

Congrats on your Sig 70's purchase and subsequent upgrade to 70.2 status.
I've been drooling over your listing of the Zu Def's - tempted to pay you a visit since I'm just "down the road" in Edmonton. Would be fun to hear the Def's with these amps. Are you planning on running a tube pre in front of the 70.2's?

I just picked up a pair of Druids on CAM and really dig the Zu sound. I was considering a Sig 30 for the Druids. If anyone out there has any comments on this combo please share your thoughts. I'm currently running Wyetech Labs SETs (Coral Pre>Onyx Monoblocks) - nice and dynamic on the Druids with great tone. Talked to Shaun at Zu regarding the Sig 30 - he confesses that he's still a tube guy at heart and prefers glass on these speakers.

I would love to purchase your Def's but my room setup places the listening position fairly close (9-10 feet) away from the speakers and I think this would be too close for the Def's. Why are you selling them?

When you get your amps please let us know how they work out.

Cheers,
Dave
