Well, its about damned time. So without further adieu, may I introduce the Altec A7's.



As you can see, I've got them in the Redrum. Believe it or not, they aren't too overpowering in this room unless you crank it. And believe me, these things can f*cking crank. Lets put it this way, if you were here at Christmas a few years ago when the Big Fun System was up and running, we got a little stupid after a few too many bottles of spirits. In this room tonight and with just 12 puny watts I hit just about 2db short of Rob Zombie Vinyl at Christmas.



These things are WAY too much fun. Everybody needs at least one pair

Nothing like a nice dose of overkill once in a while.

Steve, that isn't a preamp. that is the Consonance Cyber 10 USB single ended amp I have in for review. It runs a single KT88, 6550, 6L6, EL34 or a variety of other tubes. It also has a triode/pentode switch. 12 watts of sonic bliss (in pentode mode) ....... plus it comes with a remote 

Wolfy, I may actually have to do one of those Altec signs you can find on eBay. Especially since this room now has TWO Altec systems in it. The A7's and my mono rig which uses a push pull Stromberg Carlson 6L6 amp, a Dual 1229 and mono Shure for 78's plus a single Altec 824a Iconic.
