ATI is supposed to be "truly" balanced at a good perfromance and price.

I am not sure about whether some ATI amps are truly balanced or not, but I can say that my single ended 1506 is a beast and quite impressive.

Yes, I looked a little and some ATI models are balanced and some are not.
ATI is one amp I am strongly considering, I looked at the 1506 in particular but it is single ended, which I could do it need be.

Zybar, how have you used the the 1506 (HT and/or 2 channel)?
I would use the intended amp both ways. Although I am more concerned about its 2 channel performance.
Zybar, how does it compare more or less to the other amps you've had in house, some of which I've heard.

I will be using the 1506 to drive three Salk SongTowers as the L/C/R channels of my dedicated HT.

However, I have only listened to the 1506 in stereo at this point.

Let me get a little more time with it before I give any serious comments.

I've owned an ATI 1202 for 2 years now and like it a lot. So much so that I just bought a second one, so that I can vertically bi-amp. A real neat feature the amp has are input gain pots on the back of the amp that allow you to adjust gain so you can balance between channels, or in the case of vertical bi-amping, I can adjust the output of the woofer section compared to the upper frequency section of my speakers, and fine tune for in room bass balance.

We had my ATI in the TAAS Amp Comparo earlier this year along in a blind test with a bunch of amps, and it got a lot of very positive comments. After the comparo I walked away feeling even better about the amp. I find it to be quite neutral, with a good, tight, dynamic, punchy sound.

And it is dead quiet.

Before getting your second ATI did you bi-amp with another brand amp and what were the results.

Yeah, I tried  horizontal bi-amping just for kicks using a Trends TA 10.1 on the MTM section of my speakers, and my ATI on the woofer section and loved the ability to control the woofer output via the adjustable gain pots. It really helps with room gain effects on low frequencies.

Well you want to match the amp to the preamp so you have synergy for best sound.

I would probably try Classe audio CAV-180.  It sounds really good for both music and movies + it has a separate balanced circuit.
