CHIME - is there a DC filter at input?
« on: 21 Aug 2007, 04:21 pm »
Hi all,  Here's an update on my Chime DAC.  I tried to use my Rega Planet 2000 as a transport but could not make it work, must have been incompatible with each other. So I sold the Rega to a friend and bought a used 47 Labs "Shigaraki" transport. WOW!!! what a combination! Talk about organic!! I listen to my stereo more than ever now. As you can see I really like my Chime DAC, and have just one question- does the Chime have a DC filter on the input? My transport has two digital outs, one with DC filter and one without. Right now I have it hooked up to the one with the filter just to play it safe.    Thanks,     TISH

Yes, the CHIME has 1uF caps in series with the SPDIF lines.  You're probably better off with the dc output, as long as it can drive 75 ohms.
