I own one(although I'm not using it currently) and think it's a fantastic sounding amp especially with some vintage tubes. It's also extremely flexible with 4, 6, and 8 ohm taps, ultra-linear and triode operation, and seperate volume controls for each channel. As for tubes you can use 6550, which I preferred, or KT88's. The unit seems very well made and is very heavy with huge transformers.

Hope this helps. If you want to buy one second hand give me a shout I might consider parting with it.

Hmmm, not sure which version I have. I think it's the newer version but I can't remember how to tell the difference.

I'm surprised to hear about a new product. Where did you read this? I was actually worried that they went out of business. The website seems a bit outdated and I've never received responses to any e-mails that I've sent to them.

Regardless of their current status they make great products.

Not sure what's up with Margules. I sent them 2-3 emails maybe 6 months ago and they never responded. Then placed a phone call which was answered by someone speaking Spanish only. After that I gave up. Good luck

margules has been answering my emails.
here is an email that i got from my secret source:
"Hi Marvin,

Will get you pricing for the amps you requested. I just found out that Margules Audio will be building an Integrated, the U280sci, same specs same look as the U280sc Stereo amp, but integrated. I can get you into that for about $2800, List Price $3650.  It should be available in December 07. Will get back to you on pricing for the other products too.

Clearly the Margules specs are better than the units you mention in your email, with exception of the Atma-Sphere; they are also a very nice unit, but they do not make an integrated.

The quicksilver v4, atma-sphere m60 and the Jolida 3000 are excellent units, as far as the Cyber 800, it is just ok, the Cayin I would not buy into. Cayin,  Melody are Chinese Government owned audio companies whose products have sizzle, but no steak. With so much good stuff on the market, you don’t have to buy, flat out any Chinese garbage. I don’t even consider Jolida Chinese, because Michael Allen, a US company build his audio gear to his specs and quality control."
