Clari-T and speaker Ohm load
« on: 19 Aug 2007, 02:04 am »
I want to run an experiment and would like to know if it is safe.
I have a Visaton B-200(6 Ohms) and a Warrior 15" (8 Ohm) speaker.
I would like to wire both to the Clari-T with no crossover.
Is it safe to wire the drivers in series?
The drivers are on an open baffle.

Hi JeffB,

Yes, wiring the drivers in series is safe.  However, you'll get less power output (less than 6 watts per channel) when you wire in series.

If you try wiring them in paraellel, you'll get more power output, but you want to be careful not to overload the amp.  I believe it has over-current protection, so you should be ok.

Try it both ways and let us know what works best.  I believe you'll like the sound better when wired in parallel  aa

Best regards,

Vinnie
