The GNS modified Resolution Audio Opus 21 CDP is the primary digital front end in RSAD's music room so we've come to know this player quite well. The GNS mods by Steve Huntley for this player are really mandatory to hear what this wonderful machine is capable of. The Exousias DT in the context of my system is an absolute shocker. This cable makes the Opus 21 sound more like music. The frequency extremes have become far more extended. The bass is not only more authoritative but more musical as well. There's far more delineation between performers with a more holographic portrayal. The soundstage width and more importantly depth increased considerably. I think the two most immediately noticeable attributes of the Exousias umbilical is that the sound seems so effortless in comparison to the stock umbilical, no veil, no restriction, just the flow of music. The other monumental improvement is in the way of truth of timbre. Instruments have that living, breathing presence, and they sound so much more convincing, less like hi-fi - more like music. I have owned the Opus 21 player for three years and have always loved what it does for digital, however after hearing the shocking differences made by taking out the stock umbilical and replacing it with the Exousias, I am sold!

Unlike any other aftermarket high end umbilical for this player, the Exousias is completely hand made starting with the bare conductors. Custom made and optimized specifically for the RA Opus 21 CDP, the Exousias is truly an extreme cable using our ExLG2 silver 16 gauge! conductors to comprise several discrete task specific cables within the umbilical - not mere runs of tiny 28 gauge hook-up wire used in the stock cord - totally inappropriate for the task.
A machine such as the Opus 21 can have innovative digital circuitry but without a robust power supply and an efficient means to supply the digital, analog and support circuitry, the benefits of such innovations are significantly wasted. The Opus 21 PSU is robust. The stock umbilical between the Opus 21 DAC/Transport and PSU is a significant bottleneck to what this player is capable of and virtually all aftermarket higher end umbilicals are simply beefed up versions of the un-optimized stock umbilical. In other words, maybe they're using 20 or 18 gauge hook-up type wire instead of low Z topology cables for each discrete supply in the PSU.
The DB25 connectors are made by Amphonal and feature gold plated copper machined pins - not stamped brass. Terminations use a custom lead free Cu/Ag alloyed solder. All components are Cryo-tempered. Judicious use of ERS for appropriate screening. This cable also undergoes a proprietary 48 hour burn-in/conditioning process on our reconfigured Audiodharma for this cable.
