10' spades to bananas.  One of the spades pulls off if pulled with moderate force, but mechanical connection is fine and does not cause any degredation in cable performance.  Could be soldered or crimped easily.

Unless they made a new line in the ensuing years...I think you missed a '0' and the model is the SS-1000D.

These are very, very dynamic cables.....fully shielded from stem to stern, so they are spooky quiet for those in power line or transmitter rich (as I was in Washington DC a few years ago) areas.
