Hi all,
Just installed the MCH-3SE to replace Bel Canto Ref 1K for both stereo and multi-channel HT. After two days of burn-in, I am just completely in awe of its musical prowess in stereo. What grabbed me first is the depth of soundstage that disappears into the room. Then the eerily pitch blackhole blackness with which music propagates. With hi-rez signal, comes the superfine resolution that I've never experienced before. Overall, it is amazing that it is smooth from top to bottom despite all the nicely delineated details and air. Also, the transient snappiness of instruments, the balance w/o highlighting of top, mid or bass of the musical picture. Now though program dependent, the tight-fisted fast bass attacks are thrilling and palpable. This thing seems to be playing music in real-time, not a facsimile of it. I hope to spin a movie or two over the weekend to observe its HT performance. If it's anything close to the above, I'll be an even happier camper for a long time to come. More to come after a thorough review.
Regards,
Kenobi
