Ok, Honestly-
Has anyone had the jolida 603 actually work flawlessly for them? I've had to send mine back twice and I havent had it six months. Of course the vendor says I'm the first one to have problems..I have a hard time believing that.

The Jolida 603 was plagued with transport problems. This was due to Sony unleashing a batch of bad transports on Jolida.

I was the first dealer in the US to have this player in my system and this player worked flawlessly for  18 months and is still working perfectly today without a hitch. Unfortunatley, I cannot say the same for many customers who purchased this player.

Did you purchase this as a new unit? Leftover inventory? What color is the display in your player, as this would indicate if it was from the original production which had all the problems.

It is a very good sounding machine when working properly but all the problems are what lead to Jolida discontinuing this model and introducing the JD100 which is a totally different machine.

For the most part, you may want to contact Jolida to see if they still have the proper parts to upgrade this player to proper working order. They would be able to give you more information based on the serial number.

Thanks bill,
the display is blue, I bought it as the last unit in house. The 100 had just been released. He gave me full factory warranty and 100 dollars off so I jumped on it. The first one had a fine transport but the display fried. The next one (new from the factory) must have been one with a bad transport which I just recieved a week and a half ago. I used it for a week, and sent it back again. So it is probably in jolidas hands by now. I do love the sound inbetween the skips. Do you think I should call and bug em about it or just trust they will do it right this time?

Blue LED? This unit should have the replacement transport. But if the LED went out..... Oh well.
I would not bug Jolida about it as they know what to do providing they still have the proper components for repair. It may not hurt to contact the dealer and see what is being done and ask him to keep you in the loop.
If they cannot fix it, I would recommend auditioning the JD100. Worlds apart and no problems to date. Don't let the 603 discourage you from the Jolida players or their products. It was a problem child and Jolida does not hide this fact but there are still a few that pop up here and there.
Best of luck and happy listening with whatever you end up with. Keep me posted as to the results.

Thanks again,
I understand the 100 has a much better track record so far. I just might do that. Actually I was hoping they would offer it to me at a discount for all the headache   and yeah, I wasnt planning on razzing jolida directly. I'm sure they will make good eventually
