Has ANYONE heard about VEOH? A Youtube like set up?

I read an interesting article in the NYT about Veoh, and its patented technology.  At first, it might simply look like Youtube, but without all the idiotic comments from different people.  It is a meta media searcher and finder, and yet, the quality of the videos is sometimes 5X better than Youtube.  If Youtube was something of a phenomena, I believe that Veoh will be bigger.  Go see it for yourself.  The resolution is pretty incredible and so is the search engines and file types.

I don't get it.  Higher quality video is nice, but other than that it looks exactly like youtube, except with about 1/1000th of the content.  The biggest reason there are so few comments is that there are so few members.  What's their angle, other than to be another youtube hopeful?  There's little information on their site as to why they exist.
