I tried the findchips site but it only returned a zillion listings of push button switches

Anyway, I'm looking for a source of button head (allen key type) brass machine screws in 4-40, 6-32, 8-32 and 10-24 threads.

Google gives me lots of hits but most of them seem to be loaded with images so it's not clear if they are what I'm looking for.  If you've built a Welborne DRD amp, these are the same type he uses.  I also need a vendor who will sell small quantities.

McMaster's has brass button head screws in the 6, 8 and 10 threads, but not the 4.  Part numbers start with 97715A

Thanks everybody for your help.  I'll check into these places and see what I can find.

Brad, thanks for the part number start, and as it turns out 4-40 is by far the lowest priority and the one place I might have used them I can probably get a 6-32 to work.

Maybe I should go into McGuckins and complain about their "if we don't have it, you don't need it" slogan .. and J.B. Saunders is  always a very desperate last choice.

I've found some great stuff in screws at JB Saunder's, but it's really hit or miss.  I also picked up a pair of transformers made for Ayre audio there for Mike.  Last I was in there (a while ago), they still had two more of the made for Ayre transformers.

Brad, the issue with J.B. Saunders isn't necessarily their selection but more the attitude of their staff who it seems are required to take their nasty pills before work each day.  I hear the owner himself is a really nice and helpful guy with a lot of knowledge but for some reason he seems to hire grumpy, permanently pissed off help who always act as if they're doing you a favor by waiting on you.  This has been my experience in about a couple dozen visits, and that of everybody else I have ever known who has bought things there.  Admittedly I haven't been there in a year or two now, so maybe things have improved.

I've gone there off and on for a few years and I know what you mean.  In my opinion, that aspect has improved over the past couple of years.  I wouldn't say they have great customer service, but they don't seem as grumpy anymore.

 If if you have one around, take a look in your local Hobby Shop. This is where I have picked these up in the past.
 Also, Home Depot sometimes carries these. They usually only have the black anodized but I have picked up brass from time to time.
