Hey Guys

Anyone (Ravers?) know of any good spots in NYC to source electronics (and related) parts?  I've got a Weller soldering iron and need a replacement tip for it.  I can always order online, but if there's something local I would just assume go that route.

I have found weller tips for my plain jane soldering iron, along with tips for my big soldering gun. Both lowes and home depot sell weller irons,guns, and once in a while a soldering station.

Yep the big boxes do sell weller stuff.  But a good place to know is Sam Ash's parts department on the top floor of Sam Ash (on 48th near 7th ave) has lot of parts for the diy'er. They have all the weller irons and a multitude of tips, plus they have tons of nice tools and connectors, heatshrink, cable, techflex, etc.  All the guys in the parts department know me on a first name basis.

They are across the street from my office so I go there often.  But my office is moving to 44th & 5th, so now I gotta hike up there after work.
