Laser TT back on the market
« on: 25 Aug 2003, 04:07 am »
I just saw today that Smart Devices is building and marketing the ELP laser TT again.  The price is "only" $10.5k, pretty cheap to the price they went for back in the day.  I'm not a vinyl fan, but I do wonder how it sounds...

I'd think that'd rock for the (rich) guy with thousands of LPs and also for your Library of Congress situations where you have a vast archive of stuff that you may routinely copy, since laser playing causes no wear of the grooves.

Very interesting stuff.

I'd like to hear one just to settle the debate regarding "needle groove distortion is what makes vinyl sound better than digital."
