Here it is....... Finally!
« on: 25 Jul 2007, 04:47 am »

My Bugle/Piccolo with the Bugle PSU.  Currently using 4562 OPAMP's instead of the 2134.

I still need to tidy up the wires and cut the rotary switches post to fit the cover but so far so good.  I have a hum at almost maximum gain and max volume setting on the linestage but who listens to one's system at maximum volume!  As one might notice, the input/output wires have the shields expose. That is a provision so that when I have time, I can experiment in eliminating the hum later on.

Jim, you have a winner here again!

regards,

Abe

that kicks ass. Nice job. I have questions but I am lame - I did not startmy PICCOLO yet, and I got another project stacked. I am too lazy for my own good. But seeing your work is an inspiration.

Hey Pat,

Thanks for the kind words!  Do you use 4562's on your BPro?

Abe

Hay Abe,

Yeah LM4562's. When I plugged them it seemed like they were very transparent from strartup. Opening up, getting out of the way, those terms apply. And they are cheap. They go into the NAD CDP next. Nice bass, too. Goes deeper and extends wider, cuts, dices, chops, and minces. Better than the Ginsu anyday! ;-) Sometimes you get carried away.

Hey Pat,

I tried your scheme, 2134 on the first 2 and 4562 on the third socket and I really like the results instead of all 4562's.

Guys, I was up til the wee hours of the morning listening to the unit and I can honestly say that this preamp is excellent!  If you are planning to build the Bugle Piccolo combo, I suggest that you should go for it!  You will be rewarded!

Abe

Abe, what kind of wire did you use for the inputs of the piccolo? Looks like balanced microphone cable but not sure.

Mogami 2534 cable.
