Guys:

Many thanks to the patience of Lonewolfny (Chris) for helping me learn to post pictures.  I wanted you to see a picture of my system and of one of my new Timepieces.

I am truly amazed at the bass produced from these speakers!  Oh, the picture of the system shows the new Reality SCs connected while the picture of the speaker alone is with the shorter Groneburg Cable.

Very nice Ken. Keep us posted as they continue to break in. By the way, the speakers look good on those Usher Stands.

The room treatments are on the wish list but I am going to have a difficult time with wifey!  aa

I plan to complete the acquisition of the PCs and Ultimate Power Supply for the S3 prior to tackling the treatment issue.  Boy will it ever be an issue!

That's an outstanding looking system you have there, Ken!  If it sounds half as good as it looks, you must be in music heaven!  :thumb:

If you aren't quite there yet, wait'll you get the Ultimate PS from Wayne.  If my experience is indicative of what you can expect hear, you might consider taking precautions because your jaw may drop at a rate sufficient to bounce off the floor. :D

BTW, I really love your stands.  The walnut looks to be a near perfect match for the latest generation Millennial Reference Series (Timepiece 3.0s, new Continuums) or Minis with walnut front baffles.

Does Usher supply Core Furniture with stands?

I ask because Ken said he purchased the stands from Core Furniture in this post.

Hmm.. somebody stole something in regard to design. I have a pair of these and they are manufactured by Usher. The have the lighter color as well as the darker walnut finish.

Oh well. Regardless, Ken has some very nice speakers sitting atop a pair of stands that mate very well with the black finish. I have always been one that likes a system look as good as it sounds.

Happy listening Ken. You got one helleva system there.

Actually, both Usher and Core Design borrowed the design from the no longer produced Sonus Faber Electa Amator speaker stands.  See:

Jim:

The stands came with the same tops posted in some of the threads.  I think the tops were approximately 6" X 7.5" and Arnold told me they had been designed for the Sonus Faber Speakers.  I purchased a 12" wide oak board and cut lengths to 14" and then stained them in walnut for the Timepieces to rest on.  I was concerned with the size (12.5" X 15") and with the weight that it would be to easy for the speakers to tip off the original small tops.  With the granite base these stands are substantial (I cannot remember the weight).

Ken,

Man...your system really looks sharp!  Congratulations!!! :thumb:  Boy, one of these days I sure hope to have a setup as nice as that.  Oh well, I guess for now I'll just build 'em and you guys listen to 'em.  Sound like a deal?

I sure hope the TPs keep doing it for you as you make adjustments.  If you ever have a problem or need some advice (uh-oh...be careful ), just give me a call!

Enjoy! :D

Ken,

This is an outstanding looking system--congrats! I also like the elegance of your equipment rack. Is this rack also a Core Furniture product? I didn't see that style on the Core web site.

Thanks.

Rob:

When I started the quest for a new system I realized I would have to have some type of rack to hold the equipment.  I did not feel I had the room for a typical stand-up style rack and still require something to hold a center channel speaker.  My wife and I went to Best Buy (Magnolia Room) and to the local high-end store (Audio Advice) and we just not happy with the quality of the furniture racks they offered.  I was dealing with Klaus of Odyssey at the time and asked him for his recommendations.  He highly recommended I contact Arnold Marr of Core Furniture as he (Klaus) had used the Core Racks and Amp Stands at RMAF.  I called Arnold and found him to be just like Klaus and Bob Smith, a first class pleasurable man to deal with.  My rack is two of the three shelf units pushed side to side and by the way mine are turned the opposite of intention.  My front is actually intended to be the rear but I wanted the mission style slats toward the rear wall.  Once I purchased the amp stands and racks I decided to purchase the speaker stands you see in the picture so that the walnut would match.  Arnold has, in my opinion, better looking speaker stands but he would not recommend them to hold the 65+lbs. of the Timepieces.

Ken, Thanks for the info. This may be the handsomest AV furniture I've seen. Good for you for assembling a system that looks as nice as it sounds. The simple black studio finish on the TP's look super with your walnut furniture. Glad to hear you're enjoying your system so much, after all the research, and patient guidance from Bob, Klaus, and Wayne, that you've invested. You might be the perfect poster child of the benefits of being an avid AC reader!

Bob:

Thank you for the compliments on the system!  However, the system sounds and looks like it does because of the creative minds of Klaus, Wayne and you.  All three of you have taken the time to answer my questions and assisted me in making my equipment choices.  I know you guys benefited from the sales but none of you made me feel that it was the sale that was driving you to help me.  I am a sales person and I recognize when people are doing something that they truly love doing.  Certainly, all three of you guys love this business.  Thank you!

I will always be aware that your time is valuable but I will never hesitate to call you if I need your recommendations or want another pair of SP Tech. Speakers.

Rob:

I have been an avid addict of this Circle since joining in early March.  The system I have today is due not only to the manufacturers (Bob, Klaus and Wayne) but also to the family of dedicated audiophiles that have been so willing to share their knowledge and experience.  I recognized many of the guys in an earlier post that I have traded numerous PMs to with all sorts questions.  The best thing about my experiences here is that for the members it is not about the amount you spend, it is all about getting the best possible sound for every dollar you spend.  I have been and will continue to be like a damp spounge absorbing all of the knowledge I can.

Thanks Again Guys!
