Excellent work! Stunning.  Just wait until they break in, you'll be super happy

Great website and thanks for sharing it all, very informative

Only weird thing:  Some of the photos at the bottom of your site have some kind of distortion on them, some kind of strange unequal scaling.  So either you built the speakers without a right-angle, you live near an event-horizon, or there's some odd crop-n-scale action happening.  (or i've had too much wine...)   :)

What amps are you going to run with them?

/A

The speakers aren't mine, I built them for a friend. Thanks for the compliment though. My friend hasn't decided on amps yet, but he is actively looking.
As to the photos: I used a wide angle lens so I could get close to the subject and still get it all in. And this distorts result, also it depends on the vertical
or horizontal position of the camera, how the distortion appears. As an aside, the Apex lls weigh 145 lbs each w/out the drivers, and I'm tired of wrestling
big & heavy speakers, it is bookshelf speakers from now on.

I can agree with you wwith Apex II speakers are a little heavy. :green:
And working with them all day during contruction, veneering and finishing a few at a time is no easy task.

With DIY Cable discontinuing their kits because the Extremis woofer isn't being made anymore, are the Apex kits going anywhere, or is there sufficient stock of the woofers for a little while longer?

Very nice work.  They exude a nice touch of quality about them.

Thanks, the pictures don't do them justice, there are no flaws anywhere, which is really hard to do with gloss black. I especially like the owner's choice of stain for the cherry fronts (which is a matter of taste, of course).
In fact I likethe results so much, will try to duplicate the appearence of these on the next speakers I build for myself.

Yes we have stock of the Extremis :green:
Kevin does not have any stock were we always have had stock of the Extremis 6.8.
