Having read a number of posts on the subject I decided to construct some CAT5 interconnects. Here in the UK I can order 1585A, but minimum quantity is a 1000 foot reel!

Apart from that, I can only purchase three other types of cable:
PVC
Polyolefin
PETP (Polyethylene terephtalate)
I have naturally discarded the PVC option and searches have provided a number of postings about Polyolefin. (Thanks Jon et al.) However, I cannot find anything about PETP. Is it better or worse than Polyolefin? The Vink site notes the following about PETP:
PETP is better known by its brandname “Arnite”. This thermoplastic polyester based on polyethylenetereftalate is the ideal material for the realization of objects that require a great shape stability . PETP disposes of a good chemical resistance, good dielectric properties and is uninflammable.
Many thanks.
