I'd like to stockpile a couple of replacement ribbons for my fsts. I've read parts express has them. Anyone know the correct part no./description?

Based on the parts express website I would make an educated guess that it is the G2Si RIBBON TWEETER (276-400) because it is the only Aurum Cantus Ribbon tweeter with a round cutout.  You can also purchase new tweeters directly from VMPS.  I know that 1 year ago Brian was selling them for approximately the same price as Parts Express.

I actually need the part no. for the ribbons only, not the whole tweeter.

I doubt if the ribbons are available soley by themselves.  I would check with Brian at VMPS he would definitely know.

Actually, I'm sure they are, at very reasonable prices. Others have posted about them here, but without the part # mentioned. Parts Express has numbers listed in the online catalog for the replacments, but I want to make sure I get the correct ones.

They sell the G2si and the G2, along with replacement ribbons.  The G2si ribbon is 8.5x60mm and the G2 ribbon is 8.5x70 mm.  I would suggest the G2 ribbon because it is easy to trim excess length.  It is very hard to trim excess width. 

I'm going to lay in a spare or 2 of these myself.  They are easy to replace, although care is required to avoid crumpling them or flattening the waves.  I have made them from aluminum foil that I crimped with an art supply shop paper crimping tool, but I like the idea of ready-made replacements.

Thanks for the info. The ribbon in my fst is > 60 mm, so it must be a G2(?). VMPS has stated that the ribbon is modified. I just want a pair on hand in case they are unavailable from VMPS in the future. I'm planning to keep the RM30s a long time!
