FTP is the ticket, no restrictions on file size. webhost4life.com is $5 month, with at least a gig storage. There are lots of good hosting deals now. Look for unlimited transfer bandwidth. You can use internet explorer as your FTP host then it is just drag and drop. PM if you need any help.
If you have a flakey host or internet connection or slow 'puter, you might make use of a download manager program that can pick up where you left off if the download is accidentally interuppted. I can't remember any in particular, but a geek site like techspot can point you to the best ones available now.
You'll find 16 bit WAVs are more than adequate for home recording acoustics and budget recording equipment. Once you get into hi rez, the FTP thing might not work so well, the files just get so huge, especially with multitrack.
I think Finale has a collaboration feature that you could use for compositional aspects of the project, but not for recording tracks.
Sounds like fun!
