When is the next get-together?

Hey guys, just wondering if there's a future get-together planned? I have a few things I'd like to bring out and get everyone's opinion on. First I have two sets of speakers I just finished, one is the Raw Acoustics OB2X open-baffle 3 way, the other is a 2-way custom bookshelf design using a GR M-165x driver and Vifa XT25 tweeter. I also have a new amp, the D-Sonic 1000S which uses a pair of the ICEpower 1000ASP modules.
I'd be available for a during the week get-together too if somebody wants to host it, or if anybody just wants to hear any of this stuff let me know ... you could come by my place, or I could bring it out to yours. I live in Ballwin.

I guess with it being summer everyone is either busy with the honey-dos in the yard or on vacation. I'll host anther one towards the end of October or November. It will take that long to stock the bar back up after Gavins visit

Hey Turbo, did you get my PM about coming by and picking the Bolder PS this weekend?
When it comes to gatherings, as a group we really need to get our act together when it comes to regular gatherings. Unfortunately summer is my busiest time at work. Between work and major projects around the house I'm pretty tapped on time right now.
Anybody want to step up and get us organized so we meet on a regular basis? We've got plenty to talk about with the eminent release of the Reference Recordings.....Chris?, Sturg? Tim?, anybody?

hello guys, I'm wouldn't mind have a few folks over some Friday night and I would love to hear the GR/Vifa combo (esp. after seeing the Christmas light strand of caps
). I grew very fond of the VIfa XT25 tweeter when I owned the Norh's and have always wanted to hear the GR midbass drivers. I think it would also be interesting to hear the Raw Acoustics OB2X open-baffle 3 way next to Paul Hilgemann's Sentinel's Scott is currently reviewing.
We have plenty of preamps, dacs and other goodies that are fairly portable as well if you would like us to bring something by one of these days.

Chris, Sounds like a plan to me. I can bring a few things. It would be nice if we could get the new guys together for a listen. Hey Turbo, we don't mind crashing the party just tell us when. Scott I can host a session next month on a Wed, Thur, or Fri. Guys let me know what you think. I just need a little time to get things ready.

I'm pretty buried right now to host one but might be able to sneak something in before RMAF.

Hey guys, you might have noticed the problems I've had with the OB2X in the Raw forum ... so who knows when they'll be ready to hear. I could easily re-do the crossovers myself, but I'd rather have a product representative of the final kit to show off.
The 165x/XT25 however turned out fantastic, I'd say it's ready for prime-time
Other stuff I'm working on are a 2 way transmission line floorstander with Peerless Exclusive 830884 8" drivers and Morel Supremo 110 tweeters, although one of the tweets had to go back to Israel due to a mis-aligned pole piece. These will be in a nice metallic auto finish
Also starting the planning phases of a Reference open baffle design with Raven R2.1 tweets, a pair of Seas Excel W26's for bass, and probably this guy for midrange
http://www.rawacoustics.com/item__RA1658_,805.html
I also have a MTM with the Dayton RS180 woofs and RS28a tweets that I'd like for some other people to listen to, and see if it's just me or if they really do sound like poo.

I'm looking to have a group over in the fall to check out my Altec systems.
I want to do it before it gets cold, our furnace in the basement whines a bit when on.
But I guess I could just crank the VOTTs a bit more !
Have fun

Hey Willie,
Count me in.
Believe it or not I should have my Altecs up and going sometime in the next week or two. I just finished moving my wood shop up to the my barn. Now I have room to build something bigger than an amp chassis. I'm planning on using those furniture grade Karlson cabinets (taking out the K coupler and mounting a flat baffle) as a bass reflex cabinet. I'll mount the 511's on top. I plan on building an enclosure for the 511's and filling it with sand to dampen the horns. For the time being, I'll use the stock crossover but I plan on rebuilding it or maybe even building the Model 19 XO. While I've got the Altec's in the Blue Room, I plan on building the new cabinets for the Lowther OB's.

MrRev, so is there a plan for Friday? I should be in ... and things are looking good to have the problems with the OB2X fixed by then as well, in which case I'll bring them along with the 165x/XT25 bookshelf.

Another note about the OB2X and having them ready this week, checkout this post

I just spent a couple hours testing and sharing results with Danny, we got it ironed out and I'll have them together tomorrow with the correct xover values. That gives me plenty of time to burn them in before Friday, should we get together

Hey guys,
If you are interested in hearing my Audio Note Custom M2 preamp, I could arrange it send it down for one of your gatherings later in the year. Right now I am working on burning it in and since it is loaded with V-Cap Teflons, it might take me a while. This particular piece has the Mundorf M-TubeCap (polypropylene film) and V-Cap Teflon power supply option as well.
I might even be able to get one of my AN Custom M3 Phono stages burned in as well so you guys can play with a full AN Custom front end. (These come standard with the Mundorf power supply).
If interested, keep in touch and I can send it to Scott F. (sorry Scott)
By the way, not trying to sell anything here.
Simply looking for a few more set of ears to provide additional feedback.

Thanks for the support EB. As I mentioned, it will have to be for a gathering later this summer as I am still burning it in and also need to put together a M3 as I don't want to be without. The problem is, these pieces take a while to build as the entire circuit is hardwired and my benches are full with other mod work right now.
I am working on putting together a complete showroom system based on all Audio Note Custom front end products which will include a M3 preamp, M3 phono and DAC 2.1. YOu can bet all pieces will employ the Mundorf power supply and utilize all NOS tubes. The front end will drive a pair of custom Bella EXtreme 100 mono blocs driving a pair of the new Daedalus Audio Ulysses loudspeakers.
After you guys are done with the Custom M2, it will probably come back and go into my secondary floor system with my Reference 801 and a pair of EXtreme Adagio speakers.

Bill,
Sorry about that one, got busy and didn't answer quick enough. You know how that goes
Fall would be great. Looks like we have quite a few gatherings lined up which means we'll get plenty of chances to hear your AN pre in different systems. Should be loads of fun
Mucho,

thanks for letting us listen
