Couple Cornet 2 build questions
« on: 8 Jul 2007, 04:52 am »
Hi All,

I'm in the process of building my Cornet 2 and have a couple of quick, simple questions. I am using some tube sockets that are not going to be on the PCB.  They are standard chassis mount sockets.  The three 9-pin sockets have a center post.  Should the center post be connected to the center hole on the pcb?  I notice none of the 9 pin tubes have a center pin...

Question number two is regarding the mono switch which is listed as optional in the manual.  If I choose to omit it, do I just skip it or is there a jumper that needs to be soldered in somewhere?

Chassis is completed.  Made it out of solid 1" thick Koa wood with a maple top plate.  I'll post a picture when PCB is complete as the wooden top plate represents some interesting challenges.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Ted

Leave the center post unconnected.  Normally it goes to ground, the hole in the center of PCB is +6.3V.

Leave out mono switch, no jumpers needed.
