Bugle Mono Switch
« on: 1 Jul 2007, 06:31 pm »
Hi, i built a bugle a while ago and find myself needing a mono switch from time to time.  Is it possible to add one to the bugle?

Thanks

Have a look at the Bugle Pro manual. Wiring for a mono switch is detailed in tehre.

Sure.  The simplest way is to add a switch that shorts the two inputs together.  This is also where you will pick up the most hum, so be careful.  Wiring needs to be shielded from stray fields.

I am removing the mono switch from my Bugle Pro. I get too much hum using a tranny and 50dB gain. I tried resoldering the ground. Running a ground wire from the mono to the ground post. I think the trick is if you really want mono is to get a mono ph pre & mono cart. You [JH] have plans for a tubed mono phon pre.

Damn, too many plans and not enough time.

that is exactly what I mean. ;-)

Jim, to remove the mono switch? do I just clip the wires and that will do it?
