My Volvo S80 has an iPod dock cable built into it which allows me to control the iPod via my car stereo. I'd like to connect an iMod 5th Gen. into this system but I don't know whether the car's head unit employs capacitive coupling from the line out of the iPod connector to the line-in stage of the head unit.
So, Vinne and Ken, how about building a connector that has a male iPod connector at one end (to mate with an iMod) and a female iPod connector at the other (to mate with my cars' connector) with built-in capacitors to block DC from the iMod?
The market for this would not just be S80 owners. Anyone wanting to use their 5th Gen. iMod to connect to any existing iPod connector might want this.
