So, what's next? Audiophile butt plug? Insert it in while listening to improve the sound of your system.

Just mentioning that is sick. :nono:

If you don't like something being sold....don't buy it.  Isn't it that easy?

I agree with the above post. I also agree with TVAD's point about not giving attention to something that seems fraudulent.

But are you sure Geoff Kait is a fraud and not a believer? There are a lot of strange beliefs and believers out there. I know a couple of people who have talked with him and the feedback I've gotten from them and from other posts/ads, etc. seem to indicate that he does believe in this stuff.

Which is the point that I believe Robert Schult was making. It's one thing to criticize, even ridicule something; it's another to attack someone whom one doesn't know.

What really bothers me is that the attacks on Robert are completely unfounded: clearly based on careless misreadings of his posts. Robert is one of the most honest guys I've dealt with in this hobby and his products are of a high quality (even the deer urine ).

If it's relevant to anyone I wrote the review of the Ridge St. Alethius! Cu posted on AA this past week.

I would never consider ordering the Clever Little Clock or Pebbles. However given the acknowledged problem of laser light scatter, and given that one of the best (if not the best) digital players I've ever heard (AMR) uses blue lights to ameliorate the problem, I tried the Turquoise Paper. And as Robert Schult stated, it makes a significant improvement (increases resolution and provides a more relaxed sound), at an insignificant price.

Fwiw, at the prices MD is getting at auction on A'gon (far below list) does anyone really think Geoff Kait is making a fortune (I really can't imagine his getting any business from this telephone thing)?

are you saying that the CDP is missing some 1's and 0's in stock form because of light scatter?

We're talking about improving your system OVER THE PHONE here and you're in a some roundabout way defending this guy? C'mon, even if Geoff Kait believes in his 'Teleportation Tweak' with all his heart and soul, you don't find it just a tad bit ridiculous? And I'll bet you he gets more than a few sales with his telephone scam  as there are enough audio nut heads and reviewers out there who just HAVE to see if it works or not. I agree with some of the other posters: What next?

No. I have no idea what the technical problem(s) is (are). I don't even know for sure if "laser light scatter" is the correct term. All I do know is that a lot of well respected people have discussed problems with how discs are read and some have devised tweaks to help ameliorate them (Marigo, Herbies, Walker etc.). Enough (people and tweaks) so that I didn't dismiss the issue out of hand even though I never paid much attention to it. I tried the Turquoise paper because it was recommended to me by a friend and, as I said,  because of the use of the blue lights in the AMR for the above or a similar reason. I don't remember precisely how AMR refers to the issue but I was way impressed with that player. And the Turquoise paper works. And no, I'm not particularly susceptible to placebo effects.

Really like your motto.

No, I don't see that I was in any way defending him. I was just proposing (as I believe Robert was) that it isn't necessary to personally attack someone whom one doesn't know. And stating that I don't think Geoff Kait is making the fortune that some earlier posts seem to suggest. And that he has at least one product that is of significant value. And yes, I find the "Telephone Tweak" ridiculous.

I can't imagine that there are that many people out there that would "just Have to see if it works or not". But I don't know that many audiophiles, so what do I know?

If there wasn't anything next, what would we laugh at?

It's already a hit in Germany!
Customer in Germany comments: "Hallo Geoff Kait, this tweak is really amazing! I have no idea how it works, but it works. My high resolution equipment, which is heavily tuned and working fantastically, broke new ground. My Kharma loudspeakers are singing like never before. Everything is faster, with more open stage, more music, less analytical. This tweak is even stronger than the two "Clever Little Clocks" I own. Please tell me: How does it work? What is happening in my house?!"

I think that customer called from the Sanitarium....

In only 30 seconds your life can be transformed :P I just bid $1.00  Bids: 1 bids from 1 bidders
$1.00   Ericthered winning  :rotflmao:

I am actually working on a tweak, where all you have to do is think about me, I will in turn think about your system and musical enjoyment.  Once this is done, your system will sound much better.  Just send the check for $50, as soon as it does.

That sounds entirely possible!  I have a deep respect for whatever you come up with and will never question your motivations.    I will scold people for saying that this tweak won't work because all ideas command our respect and earnest consideration!  I will defend you from evil skeptics.  They are no fun and want to kidnap the easter bunny.

Let's say that an audio salon wants to improve the sonics of their whole store. Do you have to purchase more than one TT or will one phone call treat the whole store? Do you hold the phone up in the air while your rig takes the call or is the TT channeled through your body? Does he ask for a particular piece of gear to take the call? I wonder if your hearing improves after answering the phone? If I bid more will the TT work better?

I think I've figured out why Lewis Hamilton is doing so well in F1:

He's using a combination of brilliant pebbles as wheel bearings, turquoise masking kit in his wheel rims, the clever little clock in his engine management system - and the new secret weapon is a quick phone call by his chief mechanic at the start of each race to get his engine to the next performance level.

So, nothing to do with having a great car and being a skilled driver after all!

Anyway, it must work - GK doesn't have any negative feedback on A'gon, the bastion of hifi excellence and ethics.

nathan,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your worst fears have been realized....

Eric - I see you've been outbid, now $1.25.
Don't get carried away in a bidding war!

NB
My kids tell me the Easter Bunny photo is a fake - he's at least 6ft tall!  What a relief, I couldn't sleep last night.

Maybe I'll pay the $60 and let my answering machine record the magic phone call. Then people can call me and get it off my answering machine. It'll be like an audition tour.

Being human, with a job, I have a limited amount of time and energy to spend on hi-fi.  I worry about speakers/room, then amps/preamps, then sources, then wires/vibration control.  I almost Never get to the bottom category.  Others may follow a different pattern, but every one of us practices some type of triage in deciding how to spend our time and money.

Any decisionmaking system which would grant the time and money to try this out is seriously broken.

Sheer pandemonium has broken out! The bid is now up to $2.25 and there is no end in sight!

If I hold up two handsets on either side of my amp........ hmmmm.
Actually the bid is up to $5.25 now as I just bid $5.00 and am losing :green:. I'd like to win it and give one of you AC geeks the honor of being the first to review it on an international audio web site. Stay tuned...
EDIT: Never mind. I just bid 10 bucks and am still losing and that is as high as I'll go
