... enjoy your 3-way Colin! This was a custom kit design with dual Scan-Speak 8" aluminum cone Revelators topped off with a 4" Revelator / Fountek ribbon MTM.

This was a kit design so I don't have pictures. If the owner sends some pics to me I'll post them here.

Sounds like a nice combination of drivers.  Care to comment on the XO point b/t the lil' Rev's and the big Rev's?

Rick... have you done that design before? I thought you needed the enclosure to design the crossover. Just curious.

Sorry to bump this thread, Rick, but can you comment some more on the sound quality of this speaker?  I'm especially interested in the MTM with a 4" midrange and a ribbon tweeter.  My initial thought would be that this could be an amazing combination, but I know there are some crossover/vertical dispersion reasons why you prefer using a dome tweeter with 5" drivers and a low crossover point in the RC5.  Any feedback is appreciated, and thanks again for your active participation in this forum.

With the smaller drivers it's more about finesse and detail. The crossover point to the woofers changes to a higher frequency so the choice and size of woofer becomes extremely important. In this design I incorporated the Scan-Speak aluminum cone Revelators and the results were excellent. They won't go quite as deep and have less dynamic capability than the RC5; however, this design is a better fit if you don't have a large room and the tonality / detail is outstanding.
