Can anyone comment on this device. It's been around for a while yet there doesn't seem to be much discussion in the forums. Would the money be better spent on a DAC upgrade?

I was using one between my Paradasea DAC and Usher 307/Promethius TVC/Superphon Rev 3 pre(at different times of course) and it was an improvement with the Bolder Modded SB2 with Bolder Ultimate II ps.  It added some air and definition when using it in the 96 mode.  When I got my Aesthetix Calypso pre,  the DSP ruined my sound IMO - less dynamics, veiled, less emotion etc...  I sold it.  The Aesthetix took my system to another level of sound quaility.  In my case it worked with lesser pre's...  YMMV

Right now I'm running a modded SB3 into an inexpensive Beresford DAC into an inexpensive Cambridge 640A V2 amp. What would you suggest getting as an upgrade - the GW labs DSP, a Paradisea or something else in the <$700 price range?

i tried one of these when they 1st came out.  i was running an aiwa 5-disc changer (modded) into a highly modded art di/o.  i bought the gw-labs dsp from audio adwisor - they had a good price on a demo unit, & a 30-day money back guarantee.

on its by-pass setting, there was absolutely no change whatsoever when inserted between the cdp & dac.  when the gw labs dsp was set to its 96khz upsampling mode, the system had me running from the room with ear bleed after about 10 minutes.  harsh, etched, glaring.  i was happy to keep my $80 rdl labs pro-audio piece, which allowed me to use my modded optical output aiwa w/the rca input modded art di/o.  thanks to audio advisor for their money-back policy!   aa  if it were me, i'd be more interested in looking for a better dac.
