I thought I'd start a topic called Picture of the Day. This can be a thread where all of you photog's out there can post a picture you've taken (recent or old) that you think other people will enjoy. If you kept note of it, be sure to let everybody know the settings you used on your camera and be sure to tell us a bit about the shot.
My first try at strobe lighting with my 4x5. Not bad, but it needed a fair amount of fixing in Photoshop to even it out. The carpet got most of the light. Vivitar 285HV into a 42" silver umbrella. Developed in Diafine, which I am really liking. Very forgiving! ....
That one I shot with my 180mm lens. I first tried the 210mm lens (which I really ought to return one of these days from drphoto) but it was a bit too long for the room. Film is Tri-X, scanner is Epson V750 Pro. The specs they give for Diafine is kinda crazy. They claim on the box you can shoot at ISO 1200 for sheet film! I didn't trust that and just used 320 instead. If you look up diafine on YouTube you should be able to find this guy, can't remember the name, but he's all about Tri-X in diafine for scanning purposes. It does give you a really flat neg. Maybe a smidge TOO much, but it's better than those really contrasty negs which are hard to finess in scanning.
Hey, for all you photo nuts out here, a friend of mine does some very cool night photography using colored lights and time exposures. Check out some of the galleries from this link.http://www.lostamerica.com/
