It literally is a piece of modern art in the museum in the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris. I guess I could go and look for you

I just returned from my first visit to Las Vegas and got a few usable ones from Red Rock Canyon. I originally wanted to bring my large format gear, but my tripod wouldn't fit on the plane as carry-on, plus with the 110ºF heat sticking my head under a darkcloth wasn't going to be too much fun. So I just brought my digital. One of the highlights was seeing Peter Lik's gallery. This guy is just too much. It was like the high end stereo store which you don't feel worthy of entering. Beautiful hardwood floors, fancy funiture, these friggin' knockout prints which explode off the wall with color...I am not big on super saturation but damn, the guy's got the goods. Anyway, these Fuji Finepix S9100 shots aren't destined for 8 foot wide prints on Fuji Crystal Archive, face mounted to lexan, and sold to celebrities, but I like 'em all the same.

Is that what they do , face mount them to lexan? Interesting. Nice shots. Do you know the adhesion process?

I agree with you regarding Peter Lik's photography. My wife and I have been blown away with the gallery in the Venetian. It's always a store we visit during our annual Vegas trips. All of his shots just explode even when the lights are dimmed in the room.

I looks like that they laid the tubes on the plexiglass in a large oven and then heated it up until it melted and melded into the plastic.

I don't know a whole bunch about it, but from what I'm reading, face mounting sounds really cool, really expensive and perhaps not a DIY project. I suspect this, along with good lighting is what adds an extra layer of awesome to the Lik prints. They are glossy, but there was only the faintest amount of ambient light glare. Not sure what It's like a wet, under-glass quality. Every factor of that gallery was taken into consideration; all the walls were covered in that black kind of fabric they use in trade shows. It was super cozy in there, with a sweet stereo system it'd be heaven. It could totally double as a swank hi-fi shop in my opinion.

navi, great commercial photo works man!

charmerci, nice pic of the reflection glass pyramid... is this in France? I would cropped out the right side out to get rid of the empty black space above right and make the pic a bit more squared for this one.
