I was looking at purchasing a speaker kit for my home theater. (5.1 system)

Some kits use dome tweeters and some use ribbon tweeters.  Is either tweeter style "better" for HT?

Not really.  I have a system where the front three speakers use ribbons and the rear speakers use domes.  My second system also uses domes.  I like the ribbons best, but that's mainly because of the speakers not the tweeters.
