I'm looking to buy one of the subject phones and am interested to hear opinions, especially from people who have actually listened to at least two of them.

I would be playing them through a Shanling CD T-100 which has an integrated but deadicated tube based headphone amp.  I listen to a lot of different types of music, but lately it's been blues and jam-band rock

I've owned both the SR225 and the RS2s. IMO the RS2 is a better sounding headphone - the RS225 is a bit thin sounding in comparison. On my absolute scale I don't think the RS2 is worth twice the price - but I bought a demo pair for about the retail price of the SR225 so there ya go.

FWIW, I actually prefer the RS2s to the RS1 which I find to be just a little too much on the sweet and warm side.
