Best ripping software for Mac

I'm looking for the best - bar none - ripping software for Mac OS.  The software I'm using now (Max) isn't bad, but I'm confident it can be bettered.  It's definitely a step down from Easy CD-DA Extractor, and I have to believe something equal to or better than Easy CD is available for OSX.

No iTunes recommendations, please.  I've tried it, and Max is better.  So what say ye, ol' masters of ripping?  What's the best, most accurate Mac-compatible ripping software extant, professional or otherwise.

Thanks.

I too have been using Max for my ripping needs for a couple years now.  I have done a lot of reading/research while looking for a ripper, and Max appears to be the best (for Mac).

While our options are extremely limited, perhaps another member knows of something we missed.

Jim,

Taking a look on the .flac site, http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html#extras does not show much designed just for the Mac OS.

It does show that Roxio Toast 8 Titanium http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/titanium/overview.html will support ripping to .flac

If you like Easy CD-DA Extractor so much, then maybe it would be worth it to you to install  Parallels , and XP so you can use Easy CD-DA on your Mac.

Thanks for the info and advice, Wayne.

Thing is, I love the idea of FLAC (compressed storage w/ zero loss of playback fidelity), but I'm not married to it.  The terabyte of storage I have is more than sufficient for the foreseeable future, and consequently I'm not averse to re-ripping my entire collection to a non-compressed format if required by the software I seek.  I simply want the best sound possible, irrespective of format or (up to a point) price.

I'm wholly against putting a MS OS on my computer.  Frustration with and disdain for MS is what led me to purchase a Mac in the first place, and I'm far too happy with the outcome to contaminate it with XP, Vista or any other MS OS.  The time may come when I *have* to load something from MS, but till then I'll make do.

Thanks again.
