I may really regret this, but I'm putting the BEL 1001 MK II monoblocks up for sale. It took several months of Audiogon sniping to find two of them at a decent price. It's a rare pair of stereo 50wpc BEL amps that can be used as passive biamp vertical or horizontal pairs or flip a switch for mono operation at 200wpc bridged. The utilitarian looks definitely will not impress your friends and they don't have that Krell boat anchor heft, but they sound terrific, well beyond their modest price and power rating.
Richard Brown can upgrade them to MK V's for about $800 each, but the waiting list is usually several months long. New 1001 MK V's are $8000 per pair in the very same cases and are often used to drive Vandy 5a's, Maggie 3.6, etc to great effect.
Prefer to sell together for $2400 OBO plus shipping from 46804 and 3% paypal fee.
