Last night I went to the annual Allman Brothers show in Raleigh (they've played here every year for 13 years).  The show was great with special guests Susan Tedeski and Branford Marsalis.  But what I really want to say is that Derek Trucks is guitar god.  He plays with an intense emotion that will bore right through you.  And he's only 23!

Check out his new cd Soul Serenade and see him live if you can.

I agree.  Plus, he's been playing light that since he was a little kid.  He is a truly gifted guitarist who I have admired for years.

Branford Marsalis????  Somehow, he wasn't an artist I would have thought of with the Allman Bros.

Susan Tedeschi, BTW, is Mrs. Trucks----

Yeah, and they have a kid.  I hope I'm around when he's 20 years old.  What a gene pool!

They said it was the first time he'd played with them.  He played on Whipping Post and Instrumental Illness from their new cd Hittin the Note.
