I've lived in the US now for 6 years, prior to this the UK and Germany.
The European publishing business model is different to the US, in Europe publishers typically get a higher income percentage from the cover price than here in the US.  Publishers here practically give away their magazine subscriptions, in order to demonstrate to advertisers a high circulation and generate healthy advertising revenues.  In Europe you have to pay cover price for your subscriptions, the only convenience is that you get your publication in the mail and don't have to make a trip to your newsagent.

This drives editorial behavior, UK HiFi magazines have no problem doing a multi speaker or component shoot out, the most popular German  HiFi magazine scores points for each review and tabulates these historically in each edition.  I've found both these sources to be a good starting point to generate a review list of what to audition, which is exactly what I needed.

What a refreshing change to see Stereomojo publishing honest reviews (I'm referring to a speaker review) and the recent amp shootouts, this is what I miss and generates value to me as a potential buyer.  At last we know have a neutral and value adding resource, thanks for a great site James.
