I'm wondering if anybody not using an Altmann Attraction DAC has tried the JISCO device on their DAC?  There seem to be mixed opinions on whether or not this device works and if it does anything positive at all, but most people who use this seem to have it built into their Attraction DAC.  I feel like my system is dialed in at this point and one of the last things I would like to address is jitter reduction, and seeing as the JISCO doesn't involve buying more cables or rack space I find this to be an interesting option.

At the May rave meeting we listened to the Altman. When the Jisco was switched back and forth for comparison no one heard a difference. Maybe a bit more information if anything. It was very hard to tell any benefit of the Jisco option.

i am still unconvinced that diminutive jitter under 1ns (or 50ns, for that matter) can possibly be audible. please prove me wrong, i am not making an absolute statement, i just want someone to try to convince me otherwise. objective information (peer reviewed papers?) is welcome, and blind testing too.

Very true Rollo but, it should be mentioned that we were using SOTA (or nearly so) transports that day, an Empirical Audio modified Sony DV-7700 and a Maui modified North Star dedicated transport.  Using my Olive HD unit as a transport I couldn't detect a difference either.  Switching the Jisco in did make a small but significant difference when used with a stock Oppo 970 player.  A bit more three dimensional staging and instrument density was what I picked up on.

i'll be able to answer this pretty soon. i have my attraction DAC on the way and i have no intention wasting money on hefty transports. i have a cheap pioneer DVD player plus 2 redbook players i can use as transport: thule CD-150B and avondale arcam alpha 5 (with CDM9 i have good expectations).

serious altmann users swear in jisco.

Mine should be arriving anyday now as well.  It will have the JISCO and Toslink supplied by Apple LossLess files from the optical out on my MacBook.  I'll definitely report back as to whether the JISCO makes any difference in this application....

Thanks Texendo and Anubisgrau, if you could reply in this thread or PM me when you get your Attraction DAC's I'd appreciate it a lot.  From what I hear they should sound very, very good.
