Candela, Tempest, etc....do any of these handle DD or DTS surround processing?  I'm having a hard time locating details on the internet.  At some point if I ever replace my Denon AVR, I thought it would be cool to have a matching name for the preamp.

No, Candela & Tempest are strictly for 2 Channel stereo music only. However, you can request a HT bypass option that will let your Denon handle the DTS surround processing.
