Meridian 565 question
« on: 15 May 2007, 11:46 pm »
I have a question for anyone who owns a Meridian 565 or that's had extensive experience with it.  Can you tell me whether or not the bass management of the Meridian is active with 44.1/CD sources?  I'm thinking of picking up a used 565 to try out the popular Trifield DSP.  The idea would be to use 3 of my Monitor Audio GR's across the front, driven by my Butler TDB-3150, along with my pair of subs.  But this wouldn't do much good if the Meridian doesn't use the sub output for regular CDs.  The pdf manual isn't very illuminating in this regard, either.  According to some reviews and owners comments it seems that the sub outs are active with all music & music DSPs, but before I buy the thing I'd like more than my SWAG (Scientific, Wild-Ass Guess).

Be careful my friend has a 565 and you can't do the 7.1 unless you have meridian Digital speakers...
I am not sure if that is required for TriField.

I have a 568.2 and Trifield kills the Matrix mode of my old EAD signature..... then again if you are looking for 2 channel music I find the Meridian a little sterile. The 568.2 supports up to 3 subs in different combo's..
